The Air House
Innovation in Architecture and Material Use
For us, the Air House symbolizes a way of working that prioritizes interdisciplinary thinking and a curious, experimental approach. It demonstrates that entirely new solutions can emerge by combining technology, creativity, and craftsmanship.
Our process is rooted in:
Creative Thinking: Exploring unconventional solutions to address complex challenges.
Prototyping and Testing: Creating a working prototype to validate and refine ideas.
Sustainability: Pursuing designs that are durable and have minimal environmental impact.
The concept of the Air House arose from a desire to explore how air pressure and innovative materials can create new opportunities in architecture and design. By leveraging Tensairity technology, where air pressure and rigid components work together, we developed a concept that combines strength, lightweight construction, and mobility.
From Idea to Prototype
Material Innovation: Experimenting with advanced materials such as Dropstitch, which provides insulating properties and is suitable for structural use.
Technological Integration: Implementing smart pneumatic systems that tension the structure effortlessly, reducing the workload for users.
Modular Design: Designing a system that is easy to assemble and adaptable to various applications and environments.
The Air House is just one example of how our expertise in design and material research can be applied. The technology and insights gained during this project are relevant across various domains, from emergency relief and recreation to experimental architecture and beyond.
Are you curious about our process and how we can help you realize your innovative ideas? We’d love to share our experiences and collaborate on new possibilities.
